    Ireland’s Olwen Fouere starts her performance in riverrun as the audience files into the theatre.

    Dressed in dark jeans and jacket, long hair pulled back, she looks out from the stage between two banks of lighting.

    A river at rest, Fouere watches, and waits.

    Eventually the audience registers her presence and falls silent.

    A humming fills the theatre. Fouere removes her shoes, turns and walks to a microphone curving upwards from the stage.
